Summary

Can these opposites turn up the heat… without burning down the house?

House-flipping sensation and YouTube star Maggie Nichols can’t wait to dig into her next challenge。 Arriving in tiny Kinship, Idaho, with only a cot and a coffeemaker, Maggie is prepared to restore a crumbling Victorian mansion in four months or less。 She has her to-do lists, her blueprints, and her team。 What she doesn’t have is time for sexy, laid-back landscaper Silas Wright。

The man takes flirtation to a whole new level。 And he does it shirtless…sometimes pants-less。 He and his service school-dropout dog are impressively persistent。 But she’s not interested in putting down roots。 Not when fans tune in to watch her travel the country turning dilapidated houses into dream homes。 A short-term fling on the other hand could fit nicely into her calendar。 After all, Maggie remembers what fun is like。 Vaguely。

As their summer gets downright steamy, Silas manages to demolish the emotional walls she’s spent years building, sending Maggie into a panic。 He’s the wrench in her carefully constructed plans。 With the end of the project looming, she has a decision to make。 But how can she stay when her entire career is built on moving on?

Okay honestly I was a bit hesitant since Lucy score books have been hit or miss for me in the past BUT I fully loved this book。 At times it felt like there was too many plot points happening at once with home Reno, family drama, treasure hunting but it wrapped up nicely in the end。 Plus I’m a goddamn sucker for small town love stories and men who fall first。 Also the banter was top tier 🤌🤌

I love the genre rom com and especially some tropes。 But my least favorite trope is ‘love at frost sight’。 It just seems too fake for lasting relationship in my opinion。 But this author made it work! I love Silas and the way he owns his feelings for Maggie and also let’s her set the pace in their relationship。 Also who doesn’t love the premise of home renovation tv show in a storyline!!! Maggie and Dean’s co partnership of their business makes this book so fun with their witty banter。 Highly rec I love the genre rom com and especially some tropes。 But my least favorite trope is ‘love at frost sight’。 It just seems too fake for lasting relationship in my opinion。 But this author made it work! As Maggie takes on a new house flip for her YouTube channel, Silas enters the picture as the landscaper, and the sparks immediately begin to fly。 I absolutely adore the banter between these two。 While the attraction is there from the very start, Maggie is reluctant while Silas is all in。 Watching him try to win her over is magnificent。 I love the grumpy/sunshine combo。 Watching Silas pursue Maggie leads to so many swoon worthy moments, because he not only wants to pursue a relationship - he encourages Maggie to love herself along the way。 Watching both characters transform throughout the story is so much fun。And then there are the side characters。 I love Silas's family。 The way they have blended together in order to love and support one another is fantastic。 Maggie and Dean's relationship warms the heart too。 They all have such full personalities that I could read a book on each and every one of them! I love that Score is able to weave found family so naturally and beautifully into this story。And let's not forget the dash of mystery! As Maggie restores this old home, there are some twists and turns along the way that kept me turning page after page。 I love that the mystery is naturally woven into the story adding yet another layer to Score's flawless storytelling。You seriously do not want to miss this book! Maggie Moves On is yet one more reason Lucy Freaking Score is one of the top selling, and most amazingly talented, authors out there。 Her ability to infuse humor and fun with insight and depth, levity with love, and elements of intrigue and mystery within a solid rom-com storyline shines in this novel。 This book is so much more than an opposites attract, small town romance。 Of course it has its share of quirky characters, one-liners, and steamy bedroom (and not-in-the-bedroom) scenes。 But it’s a Maggie Moves On is yet one more reason Lucy Freaking Score is one of the top selling, and most amazingly talented, authors out there。 Her ability to infuse humor and fun with insight and depth, levity with love, and elements of intrigue and mystery within a solid rom-com storyline shines in this novel。 This book is so much more than an opposites attract, small town romance。 Of course it has its share of quirky characters, one-liners, and steamy bedroom (and not-in-the-bedroom) scenes。 But it’s also brimming with beautifully deep philosophical truths couched in a strongly developed romance between two characters (Maggie and Silas) who seem both too good to be true, and like the most down to earth best friends anyone could have。Perfectly placed supporting characters add even more depth and breadth to the story and the developing relationship of the main characters。 Authentic and engaging dialogue and interactions bring Silas and Maggie’s personalities into even greater clarity and foster amazing connections between them and the book’s cast of characters, as well as the reader。 Throw in an adorable animal sidekick (or three), excellent pacing, and a few plot twists, and this is an incredibly engaging novel that I will read over and over again。 。。。more

Maggie Moves On had everything that I love about Lucy’s books。 I had a hard time putting this book down and also not wanting for Maggie and Silas story to end。 Their banter and undeniable chemistry had me swooning throughout the book。 I also loved the instalove between these two and how Silas was the first to fall in love。 Normally you’d always see the heroine falling in love first and seeing this in reverse was refreshing and sweet。 Plus, Silas was such an adorable cinnamon hero that you couldn’t help falling in love with。 If there’s another thing that I enjoyed about this book was the lovable cast of secondary characters。 Lucy Score was a great knack writing amazing secondary characters in her books and it always makes her stories even more enjoyable。 Then there’s Kevin who was another wonderful addition to this story。 Overall, I enjoyed every bit of this captivating love story。 I honestly cannot recommend it enough。 Maggie Moves On is the feel good romance that will leave a smile on your face。 So if there’s one book that I would recommend as the must read of the summer and entire year, it’s this book! 。。。more

Maggie Moves On is a favorite romance of 2022。 It's a insta-love story with grit, many of the side characters bring the story to a whole new level。 Again, my heart belongs to Kevin the goofy marginally behaved pitbull that we first meet after stealing and eating a pound of bacon。 On the heavier side Maggie not only finds the once in a lifetime love, she finds her place in life。 Maggie's journey is not too be missed。 Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC。 Maggie Moves On is a favorite romance of 2022。 It's a insta-love story with grit, many of the side characters bring the story to a whole new level。 Again, my heart belongs to Kevin the goofy marginally behaved pitbull that we first meet after stealing and eating a pound of bacon。 On the heavier side Maggie not only finds the once in a lifetime love, she finds her place in life。 Maggie's journey is not too be missed。 Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC。 。。。more

I don't think I have the words to fully express to you how much I enjoyed this book。 The characters within the story and the multiple levels of stories made this one reread worthy before I even hit the halfway mark。 Memories bring Maggie to the Old Campbell house。 It's her newest project and it's obvious from the start this one won't be easy。 A gorgeous alpha landscaper is there to add heat and even fun in the form of his dog Kevin。 There's a number of side characters and stories that happen thr I don't think I have the words to fully express to you how much I enjoyed this book。 The characters within the story and the multiple levels of stories made this one reread worthy before I even hit the halfway mark。 Memories bring Maggie to the Old Campbell house。 It's her newest project and it's obvious from the start this one won't be easy。 A gorgeous alpha landscaper is there to add heat and even fun in the form of his dog Kevin。 There's a number of side characters and stories that happen throughout as well that make this one such a great overall read。 Be prepared for it to tug at your heartstrings in ways that are unexpected。 I could have done without the wrapup summary endings but otherwise loved everything about this book。 。。。more
